British National Curriculum Displays:
Approx 25 A3 sheets containing images and text, laminated for durability, so they can be used year after year.

Images are reproductions of hand-drawn originals in beautiful bold colours, produced by a talented artist (also a teacher) – the images can be used throughoutthe lesson, often in place of real objects or artefacts, and then placed back on the display board. In this way, the display changes and develops as the topic progresses and can be supplemented by children’s work.
Text falls into 4 key areas;
- Brainteasers,
- Key Words,
- Did you knows, and
- Key Questions.
Brainteasers
are divided into 2 categories:
- General brainteasers can be used towards the end of the lesson if children have finished early, or as homework activities, consolidating work already covered and extending the concept.
- Levelled brainteasers have been graded in line with the 6 Key Life Skills, and are intended to really stretch and challenge the more able children. They encourage independent and group research and the presentation of findings in different genres and are often cross-curricular.
Key Words
can be used at the beginning of the topic to assess children’s existing knowledge and throughout the topic to support SEN children.
Did you knows?
are fun and interesting facts and figures which engage the children and can be used as rewards for good behaviour and/or work.
Key Questions
are in line with the QCA documents and are designed to focus the children’s attention during specific lessons and can be used as Learning Objectives, revision and/or assessment questions.
Additonal aspects of the packs:
Headings consist of bold text on a background of topic images.
Teachers’ notes are included for each pack with ideas on how to use the images and text to support the suggested Learning Objectives - these follow the QCA documents closely. This document also shows which Key Life Skill is being covered by the Brainteasers, and at which level.
The condensed set of Key Questions can be used independently as an individual and group assessment tool.
